Introduction to the Brief

Intro to brief


In this lesson, we were introduced to our brief and given the large list of classic novels to pick from. With this list, we were put into groups and asked to choose books from the list and write anything we knew down. In doing this, I gained a good insight into what books I immediately wasn't interested in, and which I potentially was.


From this, and advice already given, I knew straight away I didn't want to do any of the popular and well known titles. Many having recreations from Disney or many recreations, it would be harder to choose something I have already seen a lot of, or am very familiar with. So with this, I immediately liked the sound of 'The Call of the Wild' by Jack London. I will be researching and reading into this book more.

Product Posters & Prints For the A5 prints and A3 posters, I knew I had to create multiples to a high standard if I wanted a chance of selling my work. So, I began by taking in normal sketchbook paper to print onto, as to not risk the use of my expensive print paper. Im glad I did this, as I had many print outs that came out dull or wrong. While I was aware this could partly be because of my choice of paper, I played around with the printer settings on both the printer and photoshop, as to understand the problem and fix it. However, looking at a few of the different/dull prints,      I ended up really liking some of them. The grey scale change between the prints below, for example, were beautiful and created an interestingly different atmosphere to the environment.
