Environments Development


After considering some product ideas, I have decided to really focus on environments for this project. I feel it is very different for my style and would push me out of my comfort zone, to create things I wouldn't have considered before.

With this in mind, I did 8 different thumbnails of environments, considering both nature and human interaction. One thing I have decided is I want as little human contact in my work as possible, so the only was I could portray human life in my environments is through objects or 'signs of life'. This idea I had a lot of fun designing for, with the multiple different scenes with tents or a campsite in pushing my imagination out. Whilst I do love these scenes, I feel the first few really catch my eyes more. They are more focused on nature, more specifically the trees and snow. 

With this in mind, I would like to explore a different approach to my original idea of human interaction. I would like to look into the environments themselves, and the beauty behind the devastation my main character went through. 

Overall, I'm happy with the development within this page. Whilst there isn't much physically here, I have had a lot to consider within these 8 thumbnails and now know what route I would like to go with, especially within environments. I do wish I had added more colour, or at least did these in pen as to make them easier to see.

Product Posters & Prints For the A5 prints and A3 posters, I knew I had to create multiples to a high standard if I wanted a chance of selling my work. So, I began by taking in normal sketchbook paper to print onto, as to not risk the use of my expensive print paper. Im glad I did this, as I had many print outs that came out dull or wrong. While I was aware this could partly be because of my choice of paper, I played around with the printer settings on both the printer and photoshop, as to understand the problem and fix it. However, looking at a few of the different/dull prints,      I ended up really liking some of them. The grey scale change between the prints below, for example, were beautiful and created an interestingly different atmosphere to the environment.
