Environments Designs 2
After the paintings were so successful, I tried to really push the environment ideas. Once again looking into tutorials on YouTube, so I can learn how to paint snow digitally, I really focused on the colour palette. I knew digitally that I can really push my abilities, so I focused on the small details and colour palettes as to hone in on the snow effects.
One problem I found during creating these pieces were the trees and finding their natural shape. As can be seen on the videos, I went over them numerous times before I was happy with the shapes and fall of the snow. While annoying at the time, I found this problem really interesting for me to face, as I never thought it would be an issue for me and learnt a lot more about the nature of trees, their shape and fall as a whole.
I also found the water bank in the second image a challenging problem to fix, as can also be seen on the video. I went over the bank numerous times, with different colour variations and brushes but really couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I ended up speaking to a peer of mine, who helped me see where the colour should be and where to add the reflections in the water to make the bank stand out more. With a lot of tweaking, it finally came out and I'm really proud of how well it has come out.
Overall, Im really proud of myself with these pieces. While I did have some struggles, I think they are really powerful images that, as A3 posters, will be very eye catching and hopefully will sell well. If I were to develop this further, or change anything, I would change some of the compositions, specifically on the first image, as I feel bringing the trees closer to the front would of been more powerful of an image.
