Christmas Cards


One idea I had from the beginning was Christmas cards, as my narrative can support that theme and the time of year is perfect when the winter fair arrives. I originally had the idea of 3D Christmas cards, with a 3D environment piece created for the front, with the normal card attached. I also thought about pop up cards, which is why in my TI session with the laser cutting machine I chose to create a design based off of my narrative, as to test what it could look like. 

Whilst I loved both of these ideas, and with more time and budget I would have happily explored the ideas, I chose not to. I knew I wanted to focus on realistic/achievable product ideas, and believed this would be too much along with everything else to create.

I will be keeping this product idea in mind for any future products however, as I believe it was the perfect product just at the wrong time.

Product Posters & Prints For the A5 prints and A3 posters, I knew I had to create multiples to a high standard if I wanted a chance of selling my work. So, I began by taking in normal sketchbook paper to print onto, as to not risk the use of my expensive print paper. Im glad I did this, as I had many print outs that came out dull or wrong. While I was aware this could partly be because of my choice of paper, I played around with the printer settings on both the printer and photoshop, as to understand the problem and fix it. However, looking at a few of the different/dull prints,      I ended up really liking some of them. The grey scale change between the prints below, for example, were beautiful and created an interestingly different atmosphere to the environment.
