Product ideas

Looking into products has been a difficult task for me. I have very high standards for my work, and want to make something worthy of being sold at the Winter Fair, so trying to decide on some product ideas has been a hard task. However, I have come up with this list which is still changing and growing now. 

The main products that stick out to me are the mug set idea, posters, cards, calendars and stickers. I had briefly considered clothing, however having already looked into it before making this post, I know it would be very expensive and time consuming to do. I also don't want to risk the trouble of closing sizes, material, environmentally friendly methods/techniques/materials etc.

The mug set idea really calls to me, as I believe it would compliment my chosen book and the time that the fair is set. I can do a gift set ready for Christmas, with Christmas themed packaging that's based off of my book. This will be looked into more before I officially decide.

I also really like the idea of Christmas cards, both normal and 3D. I would love to try this with environments as 3D, or character design with normal cards.

I have also been considering my target audience, and who I will want to focus on in seeing my products to in the winter fair. I have decided overall that I will aim towards adults specifically, both uni students and family coming in to have a look. I feel the products I am considering will fit this target more then children would, and I know how to connect with an older audience with my work.

Product Posters & Prints For the A5 prints and A3 posters, I knew I had to create multiples to a high standard if I wanted a chance of selling my work. So, I began by taking in normal sketchbook paper to print onto, as to not risk the use of my expensive print paper. Im glad I did this, as I had many print outs that came out dull or wrong. While I was aware this could partly be because of my choice of paper, I played around with the printer settings on both the printer and photoshop, as to understand the problem and fix it. However, looking at a few of the different/dull prints,      I ended up really liking some of them. The grey scale change between the prints below, for example, were beautiful and created an interestingly different atmosphere to the environment.
