Winter Fair Overview!

Winter Fair Overview!

This is my finished Winter Fair stall! I am so happy and proud of myself with how well it has all come together, even with quick on the day changes and extras being popped in. I feel with my added decorations and stands, my stall really stood out against the rest and was powerful within itself.

I had to make some minor changes and add ons in the beginning, alike adding the bauble sign as to catch peoples attention and also make people aware to handle my work with care. I also had to add my bank details for bank transfers throughout the day, as to make it easier for my customers. I also made a change to the price list within the last hour of the fair, as I still had not of prints to sell and wished for as much of it to go as I could. So, other than the sold out posters, I took every other product down £2. Whilst not a lot different to the original prices, this created a new flow of foot traffic, which sold off many more of my prints.

When considering my target audience, I am pleased to say I called to the right people. I specifically aimed for uni students and their families, as the winter fair fell on an open day, and it was a huge success. Having many supportive university students and their families buying my work really boosted my confidence, and created appeal to my table.

I am happy to say I had a lot of customers all day, selling almost all of my stock and gaining just over £200, so over £120 profit. I sold out of all of my posters, 2 of my bauble sets, most of my small prints and my business cards were all taken within the first 2 hours. The only things I had left were my pink bauble set, most of my Christmas cards and 2 of the tree prints. However, after this event I got a good start on followings and have been able to sell everything except my baubles, along with extra prints, and gain commissions.

This experience taught me that I am capable of selling my work, and some product ideas that do and don't work. From gaining feedback from my customers, they believed the Christmas cards and bauble set would have sold had they not been one singular dog breed. Many said I should have added a large variety of dog breeds to call to all of my audience, of which I agree with and will take into consideration for the future.
